Since we are on the beadage, I present you another table runner that I' ve made, this time using a black canvas (needlepoint) and of course beads. The pattern on the canvas is made using dark gold thread and silver glass beads (approx. 3.000 beads!), following a counted technique. The outline of the design is decorated with four silver laces that form two beautiful braids.
Here is a close up of the beads
and here is one of the braids

Beadage...
Beads are one of my favorite material to work with. I use glass beads of various colors, sizes and shapes. I like them because they add visual interest, dimension and just the right touch to every creation!
So what do you think? Do you use beads in your creations? Why or why not? What do you use them for? Can you recommend any books? Can you recommend any websites with photos and ideas?

The Lovers' Pocketbook by Raymond Peynet
For all the incurably romantics this is the perfect gift!
A really cute, romantic book featuring Peynet’s lovers. The book is full with lovely illustrations. I found a wonderful set in Flickr.
This one is from my favorite. Peynet's famous couple, Les Amoureux, is shown here sheltering from harp strings.

Doll - the art and craft of Mimi Kirchner
I love handmade things. This is a blog that I discovered lately where Mimi Kirchner makes original dolls and other fiber creations from vintage and recycled materials.
Here is one of Mimi's dolls. Fabulous don't you think?

Table runner needle-lace
Showing you one of the first table runners that I've made. It is made of a two-colors lace (dark gold and silver), close-stitched together with corresponding dark gold and silver threads.
I hope you like it.

Who is Kathrin Papargyris?
I learned to embroider when I was a kid – around 12 years old – from my mother and grandmother. They also taught me how to crochet and knit. All these handicraft arts are considered to be a respectful heritage here in Greece and they pass on from mother to daughter.
A few years ago, I got into serious embroidery and began reading, collecting books, and pieces of embroidery. I tried many different techniques until I eventually migrated to embroidery, needlepoint and needlelace, teaching myself with whatever I could get my hands on. I really love my work, it is my passion, and every piece that I create is by heart.
I am a happy housewife, lucky to have raised three wonderful children, that now decided to get into business. I hope that you too will love and enjoy my creations.
Thanks for joining me on my stitching adventures!
